The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are actually open and may close on 15 December 2024.

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following requirements:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house which has a combined gross house earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined house earnings does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the correct Identification Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored within their nsfas login South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or intend to research at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
